Celebrating Dominican Republic Independence Day

This past Saturday, February 27, Crewmembers in the Dominican Republic celebrated their country’s 1844 independence from Haiti. We’re proud to be the number one airline for capacity in the Dominican Republic, not to mention that service to Punta Cana (PUJ) is just two months away!

As part of our Independence Day celebrations, the traditional Dominican performance group “Lechones de los Jardines,” delighted Customers at our Santiago BlueCity with their colorful silk costumes, masks and the thunderous sounds of their whips.

Crewmembers wore traditional costumes as well, bringing the Passion value to the forefront on Saturday.

At JFK, we distributed small Dominican Republic flags that were greatly appreciated by our Customers.

Special thanks for coordinating the festivities go to Crewmembers Jessica Banchs and Bibiana Toribio.

Enjoy these photos from Saturday’s events at STI!
