A US Airways flight out of Atlanta yesterday was forced back to the gate when maggots started falling from an overhead bin. A passenger onboard had stowed a container of spoiled meat in the overhead bin that was “leaking” maggots onto seated people below.
The plane was taken back to the gate immediately, deplaned, and taken out of service for cleaning.
No person was harmed. No word about whether any maggots were harmed.
